The Master of Science in Design, Housing and Merchandising with emphasis in Retail Merchandising Leadership will help you deliver the right product or service to the consumer in the right place, in the right quantities and at the right time. For professionals in retailing, apparel design or business, the program offers expertise that leads to career advancement or a new career in merchandising.


The online, 36-hour master’s program can be completed at your desired pace, allowing students to complete coursework while maintaining their personal and professional lives. Courses are semester-based and coursework must be completed to meet assignment deadlines. Typically, students complete the master's program in three years, taking one or two courses a semester.

The curriculum helps the student develop skills in analyzing data using a variety of techniques: researching and implementing effective business strategies; creating flexible promotional campaigns; balancing the sustainable interests of businesses, consumers and society; predicting micro and mass-market cost controls; navigating trade regulations and recognizing cultural concerns; and engaging in global sourcing and production.

  • One official transcript from each college or university attended
