Format

All coursework for the degree is online, offering flexibility for busy adults who do not have time to attend on-campus classes. Your adviser will guide you through the process from admission to graduation.

The degree requires completion of 12 courses for a total of 36 credit hours. A research thesis is not required, rather a creative component course engages students in a unique, culminating project guided by an instructor. Courses are offered in spring, summer and fall and most students complete the program in three years.

Curriculum

Coursework topics include advanced use of technology, research, evaluation/assessment, supervision techniques, exceptional learners and adolescent learners. Beyond the core courses, you can choose from elective and specialization courses that most interest you. Students enrolled in the program are like-minded individuals from across the country, further enhancing the learning experience.

Admissions

Students may apply in fall, spring or summer. It is recommended that application materials be submitted at least three months prior to the preferred starting term. To apply for this program, submit the following:

• Graduate College application
• Professional resume
• Professional goal statement: Describe your professionals goals and explain how completion of the program will support those goals.
• Three professional letters of reference on letterhead
• One original transcript from each college or university attended*GRE test score is not required.

Cost

Tuition rates for this program are the same for both in-state and out-of-state students. Students are responsible for textbooks and course materials.
