Why study Educational Technology online through OSU?

The master’s degree in Educational Technology is designed to prepare students from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines in becoming highly qualified educational technologists, instructional technology specialists, instructional designers or workplace training specialists. Our graduates go on to professional roles in educational institutions, health care, non-profit organizations, tribal nations or corporations as instructional design specialists, program developers, online learning experts or software trainers and facilitators.

Format

This 100 percent online program is delivered through Canvas, OSU’s online learning platform. Most students take 4- or 8-week courses and complete their degree in 18 to 24 months. Convenient course scheduling provides maximum flexibility for working professionals. 

 

Curriculum

This holistic degree integrates instructional design, online teaching, effects of technology on cognition and learning and design-based research with emerging technologies and creativity. The program requires 36 hours of coursework, including:

Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching requires no additional courses

Admissions

Stduents at a 3D printerApplications are accepted on a rolling basis. Students are encouraged to submit application materials at least six weeks prior to the start of the semester.

 

To apply to the Educational Technology - option in Educational Technology, MS program, complete the following: 

  • Graduate College application
  • Transcripts from all previously attended institutions (3.0 minimum undergraduate GPA required)
  • Current resume/vita
  • Statement of professional goals
  • Three letters of recommendation
