Why study fire protection and safety engineering technology online through OSU?

The fire protection and safety engineering technology (FPSET) curriculum provides preparation for assessing and reducing the loss potential with respect to fire, safety, industrial hygiene, and hazardous material incidents.   Taught by the same elite faculty who have earned our program national recognition, our online course offerings cover a range of topics including fire, safety, chemical exposures, industrial hygiene, hazardous material incidents, and much more.

Format

Online learning through the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) provides a flexible alternative to traditional on-campus courses as a convenient way to earn your degree whenever your career or other life commitments prevent you from taking classes on campus in a traditional setting.

Online students utilize Canvas, OSU's online learning portal to watch lectures, turn in assignments and communicate with classmates and professors.

Courses taught online are of identical quality and instruction as those taught in traditional classrooms. CEAT Online Learning and the FPSET faculty are here to help our students succeed!

Cost

OSU offers undergrad online degree programs at a block rate tuition structure which means students taking 12-18 hours will be charged the same block rate whether they take 12 to 18 hours in a semester. This helps students shorten the time to earn their degrees and assists with financial budgeting. Additionally, OSU accepts transfer credit and all undergraduate students are eligible for scholarships awarded through the university and college. Cost estimates below are calculated based on 2022-2023 rates. Additional cost details and OSU’s tuition and fee estimator are available on the Bursar website.
