Overview
Successful completion of this certificate program requires 15 credit hours (five courses) of graduate-level coursework in reading, classroom management, social studies and science and mathematics education. Credit hours are transferable to additional graduate degree programs.

Coursework
This fully online program offers 16-week courses, along with year-long mentoring. Online courses are delivered through Canvas, OSU's online learning platform. We facilitate peer-to-peer collaboration and community building through both synchronous and asynchronous course formats. Synchronous courses are delivered via Zoom during after-school hours one day per week. Faculty blend the synchronous coursework with asynchronous coursework to most effectively support graduate students' learning.

- CIED 5373: Design & Management of the Elementary Classroom
- CIED 5893: Reading Processes and Practices (Grades 1-8)
- CIED 5323: Teaching Social Studies in the Schools
- SMED 5013: Mathematics Education: Theory & Practice
- SMED 5083: Teaching Science in the Elementary School (Grades 1-8)
Admissions Requirements and Deadlines
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of admission status within four to six weeks of submission.
