Overview
Successful completion of this fully online certificate program requires 12 credit hours (four courses) of graduate-level coursework in curriculum studies and science and math education. Credit hours are transferable to additional graduate degree programs.

Coursework
Required (nine credit hours):
- CIED 5333: Effective Classroom Management for Secondary Schools
- CIED 5363: Effective Teaching Strategies for Teaching in the 6-12 Classroom
- CIED 5010: Practicum for Early Career Secondary Teachers
Elective (three credit hours - select one of the following):
- CIED 5403: Teaching and Learning in the Secondary Schools: English/Language Arts Method
- CIED 5413: Teaching and Learning in the Secondary Schools: Social Studies
- SMED 5153: Methods for Teaching Secondary Mathematics
- SMED 5143: Methods for Teaching Secondary Science
- AGED 5823: Advanced Methods of Teaching Agriculture
Admissions Requirements and Deadlines
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of admission status within four to six weeks of submission.
